LaI went to a more or less adult birthday party for a girl this past weekend and what I saw (being the only non drinker) was amazing, how they call themselves friends.
The party began beautifully, they had the tables adorned with flowers and floating candles in those jello like beads in the vases. The catering was well done, except for the rubbery bacon they added to the bacon burgers. They also served homemade cucumber/pineapple juice, which was spiked for almost all adults (thier choosing).
The group make up was interesting and odd. Married, single w/ and w/o boyfriends races mixed throughout black, mexicans, philippino, white.
Most dressed causal, I personally wore my football stuff and jeans, most everyone else except the birthday girl dressed the same....except that one friend. This girl rolled up in sleak form fitting dress with a peep hole for clevage and a slit up the back. She wasn't wearing something that didn't suit her, it fit perfectly, but it seemed she missed the family meal portion of the party, ala the pre drunk stage.
Now I know at this stage opinions maybe forming about her and they are warrented, but only because I know the end, so reserve judgement until later.
The married couples complimented the dress and moved on, but the bf/gf combos were getting upset, which is where first wtf moment lies.
Question #1 : Why do women get upset with a well dressed girl (well is subjective) who keeps herself in shape, all because they can't control the stares of thier boyfriends?
Once the food was served, the cook and his girlfriend began cleaning up. At one point the cook got caught by me starring down the girls clevage hole, so I began to flash smiles at his girlfriend who then return the looks. Amazing how as soon as a man thinks his gf is interested in another they drop thier dog games and cover thier territory. He took her across the street and never once came back.
Once the cleaning was done the dress girl went home and changed, explained how she heard the whispers and decided it was best to head home and change to shorts and a shirt.
Question #2: Why, if this is a person that you call a friend for a few years now and know how she dresses....why not warn her or even allow your boyfriend or husband to make her feel that uncomfortable?
The party moves on and the reason I don't do drinking parties rises up and we meet again...the drama begins.
Question#3
If a friend is going through a rough patch with an Ex and feels being at the party is not good for them, what is it that makes you want to keep them there trying to convince them to stay?
Well it worked she stayed.
As a non drunk outsider I just stay in my lane watch and observe. They partied from 4-11pm without issues, but tention were rising, only thing was no one else noticed due to drinking.
One bf/gf combo was actually on the outs both thinking of an escape route, but one needs the lady's love and the other needed the money. Not a realtionship based on love, respect or adoration, but more a desire and nessacitiy..
They began beer pong w/ intermixed couples.(beer pong is not designed for you to win with the person you are trying hook up with, it is designed for you to sexual distract the person via enuendos across the table)
Well when the teams were made the married man doesn't care who his partner is, but the boyfriend gives a sad puppy look when the single girl is pulled from his team, what's worse is his girlfriend sees it.
Now the married guy is also upset because now instead of distracting the single girl he has to distract the married birthday girl and certain things are off the table towards a married woman.
Btw sober people named Brandon are far better at beer pong than drunks... ahahha FYI.
This is where I saw the most amazing use of technology in a long time. Nothing is more annoying that a married or a couple fighting at a party in front of friends so instead of the loud fight, they fought via text.
Now it isn't like people didn't notice, but they also didn't see what sober eyes see. This begins the divide and this is where most of my questions stem from as it relates to women and thier friends.
4 people said stop fighting over the phone, the guy (bf) had his phone snatched away by the single girl, the same one he was eye balling before and the same one he was sad face for when she was pulled off his team. She then put his phone in her clevage, which as I've learned is the universal storage for women.
One husband said "well if you're puttin' boobies on phones, I already hit record". (Handing her his phone)
His wife saw this and said "He can't get his phone back with his hands".
The girl laughed and stood up and the phone slide down her pants..
The wife smiled and said "Same rules apply".
They laughed and giggled (note he was handed his phone later, it part of thier game...)
Now the other girl was far more jealous, but clueless as hell. It took 4 times for it to be mentioned before she even understood where his phone was.
Now to make this clear, the gf is overweight and lazy, the single girl is in shape and uses MMA training as her way of staying in shape .The gf says to the other girl (someone she calls friend)
The conversation went like this.
Single lady "I have your husbands phone"
Gf "I don't have a husband, I brought a guest".
Then it dawned on her, it lead to this:
"Give me his phone"... The girl begins to take the phones out
"Give me it now, or I will tear it out".
Question #4 Why would start a fight with a friend (of 2 years) over a guy (2 months dating) who has nothing to offer and that you nor your friend are actually interested in? Especially when you've mentioned how you want to leave him, but can't because then you gotta go to work.
She pulls both phones out, hands the bf phone over without issue.
"Here's your husband's too..."
"I already told you he can't have it until he pulls it out with his teeth, I'm not a jealous bitch".
(There is a long realtionship between wife 1 and gf, but to keep pasts out of it I am ommiting thier story..it is a 12 year friendship)
I doubt the the wife wanted this but to try and keep the birthday girl from seeing her party ruined she tried to keep it light.
But the jealous girl can't get over it and the single girl can't seem to understand why her friend would think she is capable of stealing her man.
I pulled the single girl aside to explain to her a bigger portion of what was going on with the GF, which actually did more damage than good, because I've known the gf for some time and she is usually on the side of receiving the conversation about acting right, but this time she was Ignored.
This is were I saw the true side of some ladies. The fight was over the girls even sat next to each other about 30mins after the fight.... but then the other BF/GF combo got involved, well the Girl anyways.
This girl pulls the girl aside they've been friends for 8 years also. Whatever was said the argument was back on....I was pissed, this isn't your party, it isn't your fight but you want to ruin both? Worst of all she is family...well married into family but family.
Of course as people know once a person feels uncomfortable the party splinters in to groups of this person over that person. Can't both really be in the wrong?
Okay so to clear a little air here, the party was playing spin the bottle (yes, they're over 30...it was odd to me too. But as I was told they don't this at every party....which blows my mind for so many reasons)
So it wasn't like these people aren't doing this that violates a code of a realtionship as a core value. So how can you be jealous prior to any real action happening, as a group that plays spin the bottle?
After the game began the bottle hit the single girl and the BF... and it was a dare, that was the final blow. As soon as the names were announced, the single girl's face said ...ahh fk, the boyfriends face was far different, he had that pervo look of yeah Finally, in which the girlfriend saw and said "We're leaving".
Not 30 secs after the girlfriend left the shit talking began it was epic, every other girl got the same treatment after leaving.
So the let out was rough and harsh, from both sides. But the final blow was delivered with this question "who here has gone out drinking with GF and it didn't end with her causing drama". A pin could've dropped and been heard through the silence as they pondered the question, then nearly in unison they all agreed, it had NEVER happened.
So the party dwindling down only two married couples and the single girl. This is is when drunk stories fall apart.
She hangs out with all ex strippers, yet she isn't one and works at a funeral home... that's a lie and these so-called friends let her lie to my face, but I never stop and I will call you on your bullshit.
Then the pity party begins, she ask why she got left twice and divorced and both times the men grabbed bigger less in shape women.
Her marriage math, kids age math and relationship math didn't add up either unless she go married at 15. (She didn't)
So now that I get more information it made it easy to decide, you can be the most in shape and the most beautiful but if you're a pathological liar then you will eventually always be alone.
Question 5: why do you begin a new friendship based on a lie?
